Expiration period no longer works

I have noticed that the optional setting “Expires” no longer works on my website.

When I enable the membership without an ‘Expires’ option, it works very well and users with that membership enabled have access to restricted content (Page). However, when I enter “Expires 2-day” (or 2-year for that matter), then the users will NOT have access to the restricted content any more.

I re-read all instructions, and cannot find what I do wrong. Could you please help me?
